Hey team, my research topic is:
What is the effect of music and lyrics on the mental development of children or young teenagers?
OR
What impact does music and it's lyrics have on a Persons conformity to social norms and ability to interact socially?
Tell me what you think
The first topic is more clear. The second one interests me a lot. Though, the second one might be very difficult to do. What kind of music are you talking about? Pop culture music? Classical music? I like that you already have your topic made into a question though. Oh, also, for the first one, what do you mean by "mental development?" Just some thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI think you have a good topic. Personally, I like the first one more and think that you could find more convincing evidence and research to back it up. I really don't know though. I guess you might want to try searching for stuff on both of these topics and then sort through the info to figure out which has better info. Good luck with that.
ReplyDeleteIf this was facebook, i would "like" this...my only thought is that you might want to specify the type of music and lyrics. Because each type of music has a different effect, especially if you're talking about people's conformity to social norms, b/c different types of music would paint a different picture of what social norms are.

I think the second option would be great. You could do a lot of research and see how much the media really influences our thoughts and the social norms. Good topic.
ReplyDeleteYou would have to narrow down the type of music in both ideas. Are you going to look at the type of music listened to by convicted killers? the music chosen by successful athletes? the music chosen by millionaries?
